Me, too. I'm 72. When I was much younger, it was said, "America: Love it or leave it." By the time I reached about half your age, I left, never to return.
G'day Elia, yet China and Russia both (one could say not demeaning though) begged the empire to be able to be part of the system but as hegemons will be they refused and the piper must now be paid it seems.
maybe it is a little heavy to describe China and Russia begged to be part of the system. Both indeed didn't want to upend the established structure but a more equitable and balanced power distribution as well as respect for their sovereignty. But the hegemon is so used to dictating terms that it basically assumed everyone is a vassal and anyone who doesn't want that can be easily crushed. It turns out history has a way to blow up in the face of such arrogance.
Yes you are completely correct Bin but I used it as an example that the present situation arose due to intransigence and belligerence of the west(sic) and no fault or lack of trying on the RF and CPC leadership to bring about detente but all to no avail.
In the coming years, the US will no longer be the US, but merely part of the techno-feudalistic West, a Borg of sorts, not dissimilar to what China has become all on its own. Where Russia and India fall between the two is unknown. It will be interesting times.
Jewry think they can engineer another embargo against China like they did in the 50s to isolate & starve the Chinese as a retaliation for Mao expelling them. How narrow-minded, akin to 'a frog at the bottom of a well' shrouded in hubris and nostalgia, clinging to their past glories of bloodlust against weak/weakened states. It takes a certain degree of insanity to engage in doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, as the proverbial goes.
it is literally the definition of insanity - keep doing the same thing and hope for a different outcome. Looking at the US today with its jewish controlled media, tech and high finance, it is hard to argue that the west has not gone insane to subjugate itself to a parasite.
Trump's idiocracy just can't accept the reality the West only speaks for 12% of the world's population and Asia on its own resources can setup and operate economies independent of the West. The delusional West is stuck in the 1980's.
70 years ago they thought they could rule the world with economic belligerence and wanton militarism --- it turns out progressive robust planned economies are the name of the game.
The one time imperialist is now the flatulent extortionist running from reality and essential reconciliations-- The criminality of endless war never has, and never will be, the road to salvation.
I expect that we will first see the Chinese chips catch up with NVIDIA in the inference market. Then, they'll catch up for fine-tuning and reinforcement learning. Closing the gap for pre-training would come last.
Inference is inherently easier because you only need to make the chip perform well for a single model, with a fixed set of hyperparameters. However, training requires the chip to perform well for a set of possible architectures and hyperparameters that someone might want to use. In other words, if you show that you can serve a specific model like "Deepseek" correctly at a certain latency, then you can start competing on price.
If NVIDIA is making a large profit margin, then I could see the Chinese significantly cutting into that in the area of inference and RL compute.
that's a great point and most likely scenario. From what I understand, DeepSeek was able to blur the line between training and inference and train its R1 model with chips designed for inference. That was done through the reinforcement learning approach they took.
another way to overcome limits of inferior chip is just to add more to the cluster and achieve parity or better performance as long as the chips are networked efficiently, which is Huawei's forte. Instead of wiring the chips with copper like Nvidia, Huawei is using light/optics to connect the chips. Here is an interesting analysis by Semianalysis. https://semianalysis.com/2025/04/16/huawei-ai-cloudmatrix-384-chinas-answer-to-nvidia-gb200-nvl72/
Right, for scaling perhaps the questions are electricity, cost, and yield. For electricity, it's fair to say that it isn't an issue for China. Cost may be an issue, for example if the Chinese cluster requires 2x as many chips and thus costs twice as much, this could hurt AI development and would perhaps kill the export market. For yield, I strongly suspect that China will eventually have much higher yield than the west. The basic reason is that NVIDIA only uses TSMC (Taiwan) and Samsung (South Korea). Taiwan and South Korea are each about the size of one Chinese province, so it stands to reason that China should get much higher yield (10-15x) simply because China is so much larger than Taiwan+SK. I.e. if China has a recipe for how to fab the Ascend, they could just put a fab in all of the most developed provinces: Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Beijing, Hebei, and then end up with a much larger yield.
I also think Beijing is expecting breakthroughs in alternative technologies such as photonic chips or InSe chips that could leapfrog existing silicon. When it comes to scaling, power and yield are also in China's favor. I continue to think you don't need the very best chips to deliver superior performance if you can scale up with good-enough hardware.
As always, I look forward to enjoy reading your thought provoking articles. In the comments section, people often resort to calling the US political and Jewish financial elites as "stupid ", not understanding world events. I disagree. In the case of US politicians, they got the US populace to vote them into office. So who's the stupid one in this equation ? ( In defense of the US populace, they have been brainwashed all their lives into believing that democracy and voting actually works to their benefit). In the case of the financial elites, they have managed to squeeze more and more of the dwindling wealth of the Middle Class goys into their pockets (So, who's the stupid one in this equation?). The end game is near in my opinion and a recent comment I read is related :
BEWARE CHINA - The most dangerous time for China is when the decline of the U.S. reaches terminal velocity & parasitic Western/Zionist billionaires look for a new host.
I have long argued that despite how people say the US system is dysfunctional, it actually works perfectly for those who have designed it. Whatever dire economic or social situations for the average citizen, the oligarchs never have it better than now.
the parasites have captured the host so completely that the host (meaning the populace) actually think the parasites are indispensable part.
individual US politicians are indeed quite dimwit, if you ask me. I don't think this middle management need to be smart critical thinkers as long as they can recite the script and stick to the party line. fooling the general population is quite a low bar now that indoctrination and gaslighting is complete. I have argued a new era of de-enlightenment has descended on the west and I see daily confirmation of that hypothesis.
I agree so much with this. So many people say Trump is a fool but I retort the real fools are those who Trump managed to convince to vote for him. Right now, he is making money hand over fist. He is eradicating small businesses across all sectors so that the markets consolidate around monopolies (his cronies).
The collapse of the Colonial West will make a lot of ordinary people mad. The question is: who are they going to blame? Where will they direct their anger? If it's towards another nation like China, Iran or Russia, then no one will be safe, not even those genocidal zionist/imperialist maniacs/fascist oligarchs. We live in revolutionary times for humanity but also extremely dangerous times for humanity.
the only solution is for the people in the west to change their governmnents by throwing out all the corrupted incumbents, ie. a revolution. Unfortunately I don't see that happening as the ruling class has perfected the art of divide and conquer and can easily redirect any public grievances towards their intended scapegoats. Coupled with dumbed down general population and brute police state tactics, there is no prospect of successful grassroot revolt. Most likely, this will go on until the system collapse onto itself (e.g. debt default, another great depression). Another world war is certainly in the cards.
I agree. Violent revolution is the only way for the American people to escape this fascist plutocracy but it will not happen given the level of indoctrination, division and suppression.
Economic depression would be one more reason for the Anglo-American Empire to push for war. It will certainly try to provoke another big war far way from its shores. It believes that it will come out of it the least hurt. That is the only way for it to reclaim its dominance, so it believes.
Elbridge Colby is a big advocate for nuclear weapons use. The Americans know that they have lost the conventional weapons race.
I hope Colby is smart enough to understand the US won't survive a nuclear exchange with either Russia or China. It's really sad the fate of the planet comes down to whether a small group of oligarchs are crazy enough to be suicidal. They may want to live to enjoy their plunder but when you raise rabid dogs, you live with the danger of rabies.
It's pretty ironic. The US system is designed to keep the masses ignorant so that the ruling elite can keep robbing everyone. Little did they suspect that the system would slowly swallow the elite as well. That is why we are seeing the clown show of endless foot-shooting. Their absurd movies portay adversaries as stupid while the hero (them) always prevails by sheer will and the stars would align for a happy ending. This is really what they think -- they think they are up against fools and that they can wishful-think their way out of their predicament.
this is always the irony. A dumbed down population naturally gravitates to politicians with grade school vocabulary and coarse popular appeal. I wrote an essay on Substack sometime ago on what I call the "demeritocracy" of the US political system as direct commentaries as this particular phenomena.
Hooray for “delete America”. Unfortunately most of the world cannot do this. Only China and Russia can. Never mind USA, you will always have the EU to exploit! Go USA!
The AI bubble is coming. Interesting, nature just produced a new paper on DeepSeek and its open-source model- https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-09422-z. China's technological rise cannot be stopped; all the trends are pointing upward. Just moved up to 10th place in the WIPO index (a bit westernized bias rating, but it is what it is); top city cluster of innovation, most research outputs per institution ranks number one with 8 in the top 10 (Chinese Academy of Science has a 2.5 to 1 advantage over Harvard) The new ecosystem collaboration model with the push from the government is driving this advancement. It is not big satan's policy that drove the trend, just accelerated the process. It has always been in the plan to be self-reliant on all fronts, including technological advancement; food production is stable to become the largest wheat producer, and energy is next, a big HUV transmission line mega project in the works (a part of the 2030 carbon emission target)
If you look at the latest WIPO 2025 report, the most interesting thing is the technology adoption rate category- the top 3 that China accelerates. Coincidence? Don't think so. Those damn (20) 5-year plan things are at it again.
well summarized. I wrote about last year's Nature's ranking of Chinese universities and research institutes on pure academic output. This year's report further reinforced China's clear lead over the rest of the world in high quality academic research output.
even the AI war, at a granular talent level, is China-based Chinese developers versus US-based Chinese developers. Just a look at the STEM graduate and PhD programs in the top US universities will give a clear visual clue where the talents come from. I guess the US politicians designing those blockades are literally blind.
https://www.huawei.com/en/news/2025/9/hc-superpod-innovation. Incredible computing power. Even though chip by chip, China is still behind one or two generations, but as always, China has come up with a very innovative way to beat the current standard by the same approach- unity and ecosystem, collective, not individual.
Trump, and Biden before him, threatened to shut down TikTok unless it is majority owned by US investors. ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, is a private company and subject to such regulatory pressures. Its own investors, including US firms, also want to sell for a good price.
China can block the sales as the matter involves a Chinese firm but I assume Beijing doesn't attach too much importance to a social media company that does need to comply with local regulations so it will consider allowing the sales under the right conditions (e.g. intellectual property ownership such as the core algorithm, other trade terms related to the tariff war, etc.)
Larry Ellison a zionist jew is an 80% owner now and he also bought CBS Paramount...TIK TOK and X were the only two major social media platforms not controlled by jews...now it's only X and Musk is a shabbos goy...I ONLY PRAY THAT CHINA DOESN'T END UP LETTING THE JEWS INFILTRATE THEIR GOVERNMENT LIKE THE U.S. DID...they are parasites...literally
a big part of the reason to ban or force-sell TikTok is to shut down the organic anti israeli content on the platform which, like you said, is one of the only few uncontrolled media platforms by the jews. in fact, a major investor in ByteDance from years back, is Jeff Yass, another jew billionaire.
I don't think jews have the ability to infiltrate Chinese government like in the west - after all the parasite can only be considered part of the host if it looks sufficiently like the host. Beijing is immune from its manipulations.
from a selfish perspective, it may actually be to China's advantage if the jews continue to dominate the west and deprive it of any pretense of moral superiority and economic strength. After all, if the west considers China an enemy, China prefers a weak and corrupt west presided over by the jews who are universally hated and despised.
From what I heard (from the Chinese side), it wasn't sold. A minority stake of TikTok was sold to the Americans. Of course, the US would claim victory.
"- Winding down trade relationship – cutting off all purchase of US farm products and energy products such as coal and LNG".
Doesn't China own large tracts of US farm land and farm related companies? They won't buy from these companies?
"- Making US education less attractive to Chinese students – more and more jobs in government departments, state-owned businesses, and even private tech firms are off limits to students with a US degree".
Curious, what is the allure of having a US university degree? The top Chinese Unis are too hard to get into?
I don't think Beijing owns any land in the US. Individual investors or business people have bought land in the US but their interests are private. Just like any other businesses, such investments are subject to geopolitical risks. for example, the US congress is banning such ownership. I don't think this is part of the consideration for Beijing.
US universities used to be very popular as some of them have strong academic qualifications. Of course, many Chinese students who are not able to get into domestic universities also choose to go to US degree mills as the bar is much lower. either way, many domestic recruiters are limiting job opportunities to those with US degrees mainly for security concerns
US University degree is (was) prestige for many Chinese, just as LV bags and Italian bicycles are. Studying abroard is a sign of wealth that families use to show off.
indeed. it also helps that the bar is generally lower than top domestic universities for the most part (Ivy League excluded as they practice a racially based quota system that prevent too many Asian enrollments even based on merit).
Where China appears to have had to accept Trump's pressure is in the case of TikTok, which will now be in the hands of US companies. What remains unclear is whether the sale includes the algorithm.
ByteDance may split off its US business to keep TikTok operating in the US. It doesn't affect the rest of its global business. I suspect it will retain the algo while agreeing to license the tech (we'll find out soon enough).
Also TikTok is low on Chinese government's priorities as it is hardly the center for cutting edge tech competition which is increasingly in AI, humanoid, quantum, and space tech. TikTok is a phenomenal consumer product but hardly vital to any national interests. If Trump is dumb enough to consider it a big negotiation point, China may end up getting something far more valuable in exchange.
The big winner with the purchase of Tik Tok is Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with “pro-Israel influencers” after his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday, his office said in a statement on Sunday.
Netanyahu’s office said that he spoke with the influencers “about the challenges in the new era, and the public diplomacy efforts and the influence of the social networks on the discourse for and against Israel.”
During the meeting, Netanyahu was asked what should be done about Israel potentially losing support from Evangelical Christians in the US, and he pointed to social media, which he called a “tool of battle,” and cited a plan for TikTok to be put under the control of US companies.
The Israeli leader described the TikTok plan as the “most important purchase that is going on.”
No doubt it's true. Either way, TikTok will not be allowed to be outside of US/Israel media control. The options are to shut down or to sell. Censorship is no longer subtle or covert in the west these days. We might just as well do without the hypocracy.
even if the US business is sold off to Oracel or some other US monopoly, the rest of its global business is not affected. Profitable as it is, it's hardly a core technology with national importance to Beijing. If Trump wants to trade it for something Beijing actually values, so be it.
I suggest reading this article from China. For Americans it's more about making money off data storage then the actual app. And even then Bytedance remains the largest shareholder.
That's what I understood as well. Americans will have a minority stake. The algorithm stays Bytedance's property. That's a great news for China in fact. All Americans really wanted is money. Now that they have a stake of the company, they'd probably think twice before doing anything that could hurt it.
I think the bigger motive to control TikTok US is full-spectrum media control by jewish interests, especially if larry ellison gets to own the US piece. TikTok and X are probably the only social media, or any media, who dares to challenge the israeli talking points and that cannot be tolerated.
From what I understand, after much pressure, TikTok has taken steps to comply to Zionist demands. For instance, it has appointed pro-Zionist in key positions in the company. Of course, it's possible the Zionists are still not entirely satisfied with this. If total control is demanded, I doubt the Chinese would accept this. If TikTok exits the US market and that will not only hurt Bytedance but also US businesses, particularly Oracle which hosts the service. So, I expect a compromise.
It was also a test case of China going to bat for national industry and technology companies. This demonstrates to other Chinese companies that the Chinese government will support you and fight for you if other countries try to bully you, especially for companies invested outside China. We saw something similar play out with Huawei.
The Youtube channel smalltownvoice1's latest discussion with Alexander Mercouris explains the Chinese-side of the Tiktok deal. Basically, the Americans will own 80% of the data storage and management part of Tiktok USA. The code and algorithm part of Tiktok is still fully owned by Bytedance. That 80% of American ownership will be divided among several stakeholders. One can confidently speculate that they will eventually take Tiktok USA public and make a lot of money off the IPO. As I said, it's largely about money. Of course, US oligarchs having access to more data on Americans is a bonus to their respective businesses.
I've been waiting my entire adult life (65 in a few weeks) for someone to hit the delete button on the Empire Of Killer 🤡🤡🤡.
Happy Days! 😎

Good day to you too, Rakyat. But remember, Empire looted both China and Russia in the past to the point that they were virtual beggars.
How the world turns…
Yes quite a feat Elia1 to bring a billion people out of poverty without having gone through the opium wars and a hundred years of struggle beforehand.

from a selfish perspective, it may actually be to China's advantage if the jews continue to dominate the west and deprive it of any pretense of moral superiority and economic strength. After all, if the west considers China an enemy, China prefers a weak and corrupt west presided over by the jews who are universally hated and despised.
From what I heard (from the Chinese side), it wasn't sold. A minority stake of TikTok was sold to the Americans. Of course, the US would claim victory.
Such a joy to see that CPC is reciprocating in kind to the arrogant Trumplestillskin and his minions and more loss of face to come.
2 questions:
I expect TikTok to lose 600,000,000 users in the near term 😎
...tick-tock tick-tock...
even if the US business is sold off to Oracel or some other US monopoly, the rest of its global business is not affected. Profitable as it is, it's hardly a core technology with national importance to Beijing. If Trump wants to trade it for something Beijing actually values, so be it.
Well not really. The Chinese side have not confirmed anything. All the noise is from Trump and western media.
