My general impression of the lot was atrocious.
Hummm...if they were a "bad lot" and went onto Amazon and Tesla...what does it say about those 2 companies? If I may ask, what was it that made this bunch of "very smart people" so atrocious? Just curious.
I don't know if they were a "bad lot" or the current average, tbh.... for me it was definitely eyebrow raising to see them move quickly to senior engineer or senior scientist roles in Tesla & Amazon.
To be brief: the technical part was OK, my issue was with the general attitude at work: in general, very individualistic to the point of not giving a fuck about anything else beyond covering their ass and looking good on their own small sliver of the business. Not caring at all about the "big picture", the business indicators, or even the about the colleague two desks away that was going to have a hard time because they hadn't thought about the repercussions of their work on people downstream.
Isn't that "bad lot" running the USA and the foundation of the USA? But the Americans call it democracy, freedom, exceptionalism or the privilege of the chosen ones.

maybe I am generalizing but sycophants are hard to take seriously of. Trump's entourage is pathetic and don't seem capable of doing anything besides feeding the monster.
I didn't know this angle. Haven't seen Lutnick's name in the 911 books I have read, which are many. Can you elaborate or direct me to other sources?
